Miss Nita

Owner / Artistic Director

Miss Nita is a native of Fairmont, and daughter of Borchardt Dance Company’s founder, Kathy Borchardt. She has returned to the Midwest after 20 short years of being away, and it feels so good!!

Miss Nita graduated from Oklahoma City University with a 4 year, Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) degree in Dance Performance.

Upon graduation, she was hired as a dancer with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a “Wave Revue Dancer,” touring the Caribbean on the “Majesty of the Seas.”  Miss Nita danced with the World Famous “Radio City Rockettes” of New York City for 9 years. She danced with the Radio City Rockettes in the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” in New York City, performed on NBC’s Today Show with Meredith Vierra, among several TV and radio Interviews in New York City and across the country. You can even see her on the cover of the “75th Anniversary of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular” coffee table book!

Miss Nita toured the United States and Japan with the Broadway production of “42nd Street”, as well as “Les Follies Bergere” at the Tropicana in Las Vegas, performed in the Flobert and Fred Astaire Tap Awards shows in NYC, as well as several production companies in Las Vegas! Miss Nita has taught dance and choreographed all over the country! From Westport Academy of Ballet in Connecticut, to Shreveport Academy of Ballet in Louisiana, Crestview Camps in Las Vegas, American Dance Training Camps in Vermont, and Dance Olympus in Toronto!

She has studied at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway in New York City, Gus Giordano in Chicago, and as a V.I.P. with Dance Olympus.

Mrs. Borchardt is the original owner of Borchardt Dance Company, opening the doors in 1975. She has been dancing, teaching, and studying the art of dance for over 45 years. Mrs. Borchardt has literally taught thousands of dancers!

Mrs. Borchardt has studied tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, musical theater, and lyrical. She believes in the “well-rounded” dancer. Her students have been competition winners in countless statewide competitions. They brought home “The National Tap Dance Award” as well as qualifyed for Dance Olympus Nationals in Las Vegas, NV and Orlando, FL. Several of her students have also been accepted into the prestigious Oklahoma City University’s Dance Program, as well as New York City’s Broadway Dance Center Professional Program.

Mrs. Borchardt is dedicated to teaching her students the importance of a professional dance education, and the joy it brings. Her teaching transcends beyond “steps.” She teaches her students to set high goals for themselves, work hard, and accomplish them. In addition to exceptional dance training, she teaches her students character, respect, and integrity. Mrs. Borchardt is more than a teacher, she is an inspiration.

Dance Instructor / Dance Assistant

Miss Jordyn started dancing at Borchardt Dance Company when she was 3 years old, and she hasn’t missed a year since! She became a student teacher at BDC at the age of 14, continued through high school, and several years after. Miss Jordyn became a Teacher at BDC in 2019, and continues to Assist Miss Nita and Mrs. Borchardt. She is having a blast!

Miss Jordyn trained at Oklahoma City University’s “Broadway Bound Summer Dance Camps.” She studied with OCU’s nationally recognized teaching staff, under the Direction of Jo Rowan. Miss Jordyn studied Musical Theater, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Rhythm Tap, as well as Triple Treat Classes in Acting and Singing. Miss Jordyn also auditioned for OCU’s dance department and was accepted as a Dance Major!

Miss Jordyn continued her studies with Broadway Dance Center’s Training Program in New York City. She studied full-time under world-renowned faculty such as Doug Shankman, Stacie Webster, among others! Miss Jordyn performed at the “Orphaned Starfish Foundation” with Zelma David, as well as Broadway Dance Center’s Performance Projects.

Miss Jordyn attends Conventions, Master Classes, and Competitions to learn new and fresh ideas, that she brings back to BDC. She has taken class from professional instructors such as Travis Wall, Matt Steffanina, Ashley Costa, Will Loftis, and many more!

Miss Natalie is a Borchardt Dance Company alumni.

She has studied Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Musical Theater, and Hip Hop, as well as additional dance styles on competitive high school and college dance teams.

Miss Natalie has been working with children for many years in her endeavors as a play director for Patent Pending Players, a Bible camp counselor at Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp, and through her choreography teaching and cleaning sessions with junior high and high school students.

She has worked with and choreographed for multiple show choir performances, musicals, and competitive dance teams. Miss Natalie is also a piano and vocal instructor.

We are excited to welcome Miss Natalie to her home studio of BDC as one of our talented, passionate, and compassionate dance instructors!
