New Parent FAQ

Why should I choose BDC?

At BDC, we provide professional instruction, personal attention, and a dedicated teaching staff that believes in promoting self confidence and instilling the love of dance in every student.

We are a friendly small town dance studio, with big city dance training! We would love for you to join our BDC Family!

When can I register my dancer?

Our “dance season” begins in September and commences in May. We encourage dancers to register prior to September, as our classes fill quickly! Please contact the Studio Office if you are unable to make the September deadline. borchardtdance@gmail.com

Summer Classes: Dancers can register once summer dance class dates and times are released in the spring! Please visit www.borchardtdance.com to Register!

Is my child old enough to start dance class?

Our youngest dancers start at the age of 2 1/2 or 3, and must be confidently potty trained.

How do I know what class to register my dancer for?

Dancers are placed in classes according to their age and dance experience (if any). If your dancer falls into more than one dance class category, please select either class. We will contact you regarding your dancer’s experience (if any) and discuss the best placement for them. (Please refer to Class Description)

Do you offer a “Trial Class” for my dancer?

Our classes are full every season, so unfortunately, we do not offer “Trial Classes.”

However, Summer Dance Classes are a great way for your dancer to get a “taste of dance,” without the year long commitment. And, there is No Registration Fee for Summer Dance Classes!! (Please refer to Summer Dance Classes)

Do you offer Boys Classes and/or Adult Classes?

Boys are welcome in all of our “Combo Classes.” At this time, we do not offer “boys only classes.” However, we occasionally add new classes, when teachers and studio space are available, including Adult Classes. Please contact the Studio Office if you are interested, and we will keep you “in the loop” with any new classes we add.

What should my dancer wear to Dance Class?

Proper dance attire is extremely important in dance training. It provides dance teachers the tools to successfully correct dancers in their alignment and technique, as well as maintain visual consistency.

In order to ensure that our dancers have a uniform look for class and recitals, we require all Shoes and Tights purchases be made through BDC.

We hold “Shoe Day” every August at BDC, where your dancer will be personally fitted for the proper shoes and tights for dance class. We also offer “Used Shoes” prior to “Shoe Day.” (Please refer to Dress Code/ Dance Shoes)

Are there any expenses in addition to Dance Tuition?

There is an Annual Registration Fee for our “dance season” dancers. Our classes fill quickly, and the Registration Fee guarantees your dancer a spot in class for the year.

There is NO additional fee if you choose an “Add On” class.

There is NO Registration Fee for Summer Dance Classes.

Dance Recital Costume purchases are also required for Dance Recital Participation. We DO NOT charge a Recital Fee! (Please refer to BDC Policies)

BDC approved dance Shoes and Tights will also need to be purchased.

How much do dance classes cost?

BDC strongly believes in “Well Rounded” dancers. Therefor, we offer Combination (Combo) Classes to all of our students. Your dancer will study up to 3 dance styles in each class session! Wow! Now there’s some bang for your buck!
We have 3 Semesters per “dance season.” Tuition is due in Full the first day of each Semester.
